No later than 1 April of each year, an annual reporting shall be made through the EU CEG.

Manufacturers and importers of electronic cigarettes and refillable nicotine cartridges must annually report information about the previous year regarding sales volume, sales channels, summaries of market surveys, if any, and consumer preferences to the Danish Safety Technology Authority.

The information is collected to follow the development of market of electronic cigarettes and refillable nicotine cartridges, e.g. to assess whether use of these products leads to nicotine addiction or tobacco consumption among young people and non-smokers.

The information must be reported via EU-CEG by the manufacturer or importer who has submitted the notification in the EU CEG. Reporting deals with sales to the Danish market of electronic cigarettes and refill containers with nicotine. There must be reported on the specific product ID and possibly subbrand. A comprehensive report may be provided containing information for several of the products. This report must be uploaded to each of the respective product IDs in the EU CEG. There must be reported for the period 7. June 2016 to 31. December 2016.

    Requirements for the annual reporting:

    • Information about sales volume. This shall be detailed and divided into the following: Trade name (product brand) and product type.
    • Information about sales channels. This shall account for which retailers are selling the importer’s or the manufacturer's products.
    • Summary of the market survey, if any. This shall be written in English or an English translation hereof shall be available. The summary of the market survey is relevant only if a market survey has been made; otherwise reporting of this is not required.
    • Study of consumer preferences. This shall include information about preferences of young people’s, non-smokers’ and the current primary consumer groups. There are no formal requirements for how this study is carried out.
