No later than 1 April of each year, an annual reporting shall be made through the EU CEG.
Manufacturers and importers of electronic cigarettes and refillable nicotine cartridges must annually report information about the previous year regarding sales volume, sales channels, summaries of market surveys, if any, and consumer preferences to the Danish Safety Technology Authority.
The information is collected to follow the development of market of electronic cigarettes and refillable nicotine cartridges, e.g. to assess whether use of these products leads to nicotine addiction or tobacco consumption among young people and non-smokers.
Requirements for the annual reporting:
- Information about sales volume. This shall be detailed and divided into the following: Trade name (product brand) and product type.
- Information about sales channels. This shall account for which retailers are selling the importer’s or the manufacturer's products.
- Summary of the market survey, if any. This shall be written in English or an English translation hereof shall be available. The summary of the market survey is relevant only if a market survey has been made; otherwise reporting of this is not required.
- Study of consumer preferences. This shall include information about preferences of young people’s, non-smokers’ and the current primary consumer groups. There are no formal requirements for how this study is carried out.
This information shall be reported through the EU CEG by the manufacturer or importer, who has made the notification in the EU CEG.
